Slumdog Millionaire

For Valentine's Day, Josh took me to see Slumdog Millionaire. I don't recommend many movies on this site, but I would recommend this one. It's a bit heavy and I wouldn't take children to see it, but the acting is amazing. The soundtrack is amazing. The cinematography is amazing. And, besides all that, it's just a great story. Seriously. . . you should go see it.

Wasn't it great? Best movie I've seen in years! We went on Thursday, which was opening night. There were only about 10 other people in the theater! That was at Balestier though. It's the coldest and least populated theater in Singapore I think.

That means Balestier must be sub-thermal because every theater here is like an icebox! We went on Sat to the Shaw House and it was PACKED! There were probably about 800 in there. . . no joke. I've never seen such a big theater!

And, yes, I agree. . . that was probably the best movie I've seen in a l-o-n-g time.

Ben and I went to see it last week (date night! wo-hoo!) and were impressed--both good and bad. It was fun and exciting to be transported to a foreign world, but it hit uncomfortably close to home as well. Our son is about the age of the boys when they were orphaned and it was almost too hard to watch them struggle alone, to be used and abused. Luckily the ending was nice and tidy, and I loved the Bollywood mass dance at the end.

I second the recommendation. =)
