Would You Rather (Tag)

My cousin, the Napping Ice-Hockey-Loving Poker Queen, unofficially tagged everyone who reads her blog to post a Would-You-Rather dilemma on their blogs. So, here is mine:

Would you rather. . .
live in a place that's hot all year
or
live in a place that's temperate nine months of the year, but really, really cold for three months?
Weather and weather related activities can be your only consideration (no family/friend considerations)

Your turn! Answer this one and then post one of your own on your blog =)

Funny that you should ask this question because it's the one I've been asking myself for the past few weeks while we've made the change from the former to the latter! I have to say I'd much rather live in the latter. Why? Because even though the three months of winter can be frustrating, limiting, and tiring, it makes the rest of the year worthwhile. You can't have the awakening of spring, the mild summer, the gorgeous fall, without the cold winter. It makes the rest of the year something you appreciate. When it's warm all the time, I don't appreciate it as much.

I agree with Gina Marie. Were it not for the bleak, damp, cold days of winter here in Central CA, I don't think I would be so excited when spring appears.

My first choice, though, would be to live in a temperate climate all year! That's what I did growing up in San Diego. Best climate on earth, I believe.

I basically live in the latter except in MN, we have more than 3 months of really, really cold.

Given the choice, I would also choose to live with really, really cold weather part of the year. Even if it's really cold for up to 6-7 months. I love winter sports and snow and even though I hate being cold, it's worth it to me to be able to play hockey, broomball, and build snowmen =)

Fun question!!! And thanks for playing along!! =)

To answer my own question. . . I'd MUCH rather have seasons! There are definitely perks about living in a monotonous climate (such as the fact that I can buy clothes well in advance and don't have to wonder if the kids will be the right size in the right season). But, I miss the change. Gina is right, it's hard to appreciate the heat when you never have anything but heat.
