Coming Soon. . .

Another baby will be joining the Redin family the end of this summer. The ETA for Baby R2, according to the sonogram, is August 28th. (For those of you who think in weeks, that puts me at around 7.5 weeks). We were able to hear the heartbeat and see our baby, little arm and leg nubs and all, in live action just yesterday.

Feel free to guess the gender. . . we don't plan on finding out until the big day arrives, but I'd love to hear your guesses.

Please keep this little one in your prayers. He/She still has a lot of growing to do!

Hooray! So excited about this new little one coming into the world with such a beautiful family to receive her.

I said her because I am hoping it's a girl. I just want to see you be the mommy to a beautiful little girl.

We are all very excited about the new little one coming! I must admit that I am thinking of "her" as a "her" also...

Caleb will be a big brother-wow!

Hoorah! I was just wondering when you all would be "in the family way" again. :o)

So far, then, the count is 2 for a girl, 1 for a boy. We shall see, we shall see!

Jen. . . just wondering if you remembered that when my mom was pregnant with my sister when I was in 5th grade, I proudly announced, with all seriousness, to my school teacher that my mom was "in the family way." I had read it in a book somewhere and thought it sounded so cool!

Times have changed.

"In a family way" was the term of choice for many years in the 19th and 20th century. The word "pregnant" was considered crass. It still sounds a little ripe to me. "Expecting" sounds softer and more feminine.

My grandmother didn't tell anyone (except close family) that she was "in a family way" until it could no longer be hidden!

That seems a bit extreme, but then we've gone to the other extreme now...

And I'll spare your readers my Rant on that one! =X

Congratulations! I won't cast a vote on the gender because I am not good at being correct at random guessing (many test scores have proved that!). I will, however, pray for good health for both the baby and you!

Congratulations Rabecca! Life is just getting more exciting for you. My guess would be a boy for now, just thought I'd throw one out there! ;)

Rebecca, that is precisely why I chose the wording I did! I often think of that story and imagine your cute little elementary-grade self talking proudly to your teacher.

Caleb's Gram, time for a new blogger name?

:o)

The mystery letter will be added.
